Arthritis

I was given free body fats analysis before my workout last wkn & had received a negative feedback. I might be suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis. Glad to know it early.. To those whom wish to know more.. below is a slight briefg just for sharing :

Rheumatoid arthritis can attack at any age. This form of arthritis affects all the connective tissues in the body. The precise cause is unknown. The synovial lining of the joint becomes inflamed. Other body tissues may also become inflamed. Thus, the associated symptoms are malaise, muscle aches. Joints usually affected are those in the fingers, wrists, shoulders, knees or feet. Proper treatment helps reduce the joint damage that rheumatoid arthritis causes. If left untreated, rheumatoid arthritis may damage the heart, lungs, nerves and eyes.

THOSE AT RISK
Arthritis is not an inherited disease. Nonetheless, people who have a family history of arthritis are more likely to develop the disease Women are at greater risk than men, although the reason for this unclear. Excess body weight may promote Osteoarthritis because of increased load on the joints. Constant sports or job-related joint abuse may encourage arthritis, but inactivity can also cause the problem.

What are the Symptoms
Tender, warm or swollen joints, pain & stiffness.

Joint inflammation often affecting the wrist and finger joints; other affected joints can include those of the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, ankles, and feet.

What You Can Do ?
- Rest the joint until pain subsides to prevent further inflammation.
- To ease the pain or stiffness of the joint, apply heat on the joint for about 15 minutes once or twice a day using a hot water bottle or towel or an infrared lamp.
- If you're overweight, reduce weight to lighten the load on weight-bearing joints
- Lifestyles changes. Both rest and exercise are important. Warm baths, massage and stretching exercises may be helpful. Making some modifications in daily activities or using assisting devices to ensure joint protection is recommended.

As advice, some who got it is due to the type of work you're in. Just like me, i'm having an office base job where typing is a must.. therefore, i've got stiff shoulders which is a common one.

Be glad if you're not in the above category.. Treat it fast if you are.
